Introducing Our Low-Cost Assessment & Therapy Program for Children and Youth!

We are excited to announce the launch of High Point Psychology’s Low-Cost

Assessment & Therapy Program for Children and Youth (ages 6–21), beginning

September 2025 and running through August 2026.

This program is designed to make psychological services more accessible for families

by offering affordable, high-quality assessments and therapy. All services will be

provided by a doctoral-level psychology resident, under the supervision of a Registered

Psychologist.

What is an Assessment?

Assessments can provide valuable insight into how a child learns, thinks, and

experiences the world. We provide information on your child’s area of strength and areas of challenge. At the end of the assessment process, you will receive a report with tailored recommendations for how to best support your child at home, at school, and in the community.

Some common reasons families may seek assessments include:

  • Concerns about learning difficulties (e.g., reading, writing, or math challenges)

  • Questions about attention or focus, or questioning a diagnosis of ADHD

  • Understanding strengths and challenges in memory, problem-solving, or executive functioning

  • Identifying whether a child may be gifted and in need of advanced programming

  • Clarifying diagnoses to support individualized education planning (IEPs/IPPs)

  • Exploring the reasons behind school avoidance or academic struggles

Assessment Services

We are offering a limited number of assessment spots for children and youth ages

6–21:

  • Psychoeducational Assessments – $1800

  • Gifted Assessments – $800

  • Other assessments may be available and can be discussed at an hourly rate.

Therapy Services

In addition to assessments, we are offering therapy for children and youth

ages 8–21.Therapy can help young people navigate challenges such as:

  • Anxiety and stress

  • Depression or low mood

  • Behavioural difficulties and emotional regulation

  • Struggles with school attendance

  • Attention and executive functioning

  • Adjusting to life changes or transitions

  • Other difficulties impacting their daily lives and relationships

Therapy will be offered at the reduced rate of $60 per session.

Please note: At this time, therapy is not suitable for clients with active suicidal concerns

or a significant trauma history. If you aren’t sure, feel free to reach out for a consultation.
