To my valued clients:
I hope this note finds your family healthy and that you are managing during these uncertain times. I want to thank you for your patience and flexibility as we navigate this new environment for the time being. I thought it was important that I touch base with you about how services will proceed for the foreseeable future.
The College of Alberta Psychologists has recommended that services be transitioned as quickly as possible to virtual platforms. I was able to work out some technology kinks over the past week and we are back to sessions as normal, although it will take some getting used to. I will continue to offer therapy and parent consultation sessions via video conferencing or telephone. If you would like to schedule a session or ask questions about how telepsychology works, please connect with me.
For the foreseeable future, face-to-face sessions are restricted unless absolutely urgent. What that means is many scheduled sessions for formal assessment have been postponed or cancelled. This decision will be revisited weekly, and as government recommendations and regulations are revised. I want to be able to accommodate all assessment requests that are feasible and appropriate, so please reach out should you have questions about an assessment appointment.
What is most important is that you feel supported over the next few months. I'm working hard to share meaningful and relevant content through social media. It is important to prioritize self-care, continue to practice social isolation, and take care of yourself. If I can be of any help -- for you or your child -- please get in touch and we can discuss the best way to proceed.
